A new municipality hall in Halle-Zoersel

The new municipality hall in Halle has to become a place where organizations and private individuals can host their activities.

Together with all users, we will draft tailored user regulations. This will be the perfect location for any event, with its south-facing terrace, its beautiful parsonage garden and the Sint-Martinus church garden.

Design Plans

The preliminary design plans, to create extra parking lots and new passageways, are in the making. They are being drafted based on the findings of the mobility and parking study carried out in late 2017. The current Saint Maarten parish hall will disappear and make room for a residential building project, partly including social housing.

What’s next

The construction of the new municipality hall in Halle and the renovation of the parsonage fall under the Interreg 2Seas Solarise subsidy programme. This cooperation programme tests innovative solar solutions with several project partners and aims to demonstrate these solutions on historic public buildings, such as the old parsonage. The roof will be fitted with thermal solar panels, connected to a water pump with an ice buffer system.

Final results

The project was approved by the city council on 26 June 2018. The environmental permit is currently pending.
